MEMORANDUM <br />To: Mayor and City Council <br />From: Ron Olson, Finance Director <br />Date: November 23, 2015 <br />Subject: 2016 CIP Draft <br />Staff has reviewed and updated the 2016 CIP. Copies of the updated forms are being <br />provided for your review. While a majority of the CIP involved rolling the old CIP <br />forward to 2016, there were changes made in timing and cost estimates. A summary of <br />the changes: <br />• Parks — Trails have been added to the Park section of the CIP. <br />• Equipment — The replacement cost of the dump trucks have been updated to <br />reflect the actual costs for truck 424 which was purchased in 2014. <br />• Building — A roof for the Public Works salt shed has been added to 2016. The <br />Public Works parking lot has been moved back to 2019. <br />• IT — The tape backup replacement has been removed from the CIP. This will no <br />longer be needed because of the move to a cloud based backup. <br />• Golf — The replacement of the Golf Course pickup has been moved back one year. <br />An amount for ongoing improvements to the course and clubhouse has been <br />added. <br />• Long Lake Fire — The replacement of Engine 12 was moved back to 2016. The <br />pricing on portable radios has been adjusted. Replacing of the SCBA equipment <br />has been added. It is possible that a grant may be obtained to pay for a portion of <br />the SCBA. <br />• Community Investment —The County 112 turnback costs have been updated. <br />• Streets - The order of streets has been updated to reflect the most recent plan for <br />performing the work. <br />• <br />Water— The timing of projects have been changed to reflect projects completed <br />with the 2014 bond sale. The north distribution extension has been move up to <br />2016 with the expectation of development. The West Lafeyette Main replacement <br />was moved to 2016 to correspond with road work. <br />
