This application is regarding a lake setback variance to construct a replacement barn, <br />an 1,800 square foot oversize accessory building, on the property. <br /> <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received and considered to be complete <br />on September 16, 2019. The 60-Day review period has been extended and now expires on <br />January 15, 2020. <br /> <br />3. Background/ Summary. The applicant has an existing 1,100 square foot barn on the property <br />which is in need of replacement. They are proposing to construct a new 1,800 square foot barn in <br />generally the same location on the property, but further from the lake. The proposed location is <br />124’ from the lake, within the required 150-foot setback from Lake Classen, which is a natural <br />environment lake. <br /> <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. On October 21st, the Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing. Following the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 7 to 0 on a motion <br />to approve the requested lake setback variance. <br /> <br />5. Public Comment. Comments from the neighbors were received and are attached as Exhibit D. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
