MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> Monday, September 16,2019 <br /> 6:30 p.m. <br /> Oakden stated the garage and deck are existing and they are proposing to screen in a porch over the deck <br /> and add a rear landing off of the back of the house. <br /> Alicia Cozine, 580 Orchard Park Road, stated she would be happy to answer any questions. <br /> Chair Ressler opened the public hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> There were no public comments relating to this application. <br /> Chair Ressler closed the public hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> Thiesse stated he has no concerns with the application and it is a reasonable request. The property is large <br /> enough and the project will not be visible to anybody and is a great amenity to the house. <br /> Gettman and Bollis indicated they have no issues with the application. <br /> Erickson commented similar to a garage, a screen porch in Minnesota in the summer is an asset and he <br /> would support the application. <br /> McCutcheon stated he supports the application. <br /> Ressler indicated he is in support of the application. <br /> Bollis moved, Gettman seconded,to recommend approval of Application No. LA19-000068, Eric <br /> Johnson,580 Orchard Park Road,variance. VOTE: Ayes 6,Nays 0. <br /> 4. LA18-000069 JOHN QUINLIVAN,3315 CRYSTAL BAY ROAD,VARIANCES, 7:38 P.M.— <br /> 8:37 P.M. <br /> John Quinlivan, Gordon James Construction; Andrea Swan,Architect; and Dale and Jonmari Olsen, <br /> Property Owners, were present. <br /> Curtis stated the applicant is requesting a number of approvals in conjunction with redevelopment of the <br /> property. Due to the property's small size and small deck, redevelopment will require the following <br /> variances: <br /> -Lot area; <br /> -Hardcover within the 75-foot setback; <br /> -Building and structure within the 75-foot setback <br /> -Driveway width within the 75-foot setback; <br /> -49 percent total site hardcover where 25 percent is allowed; <br /> -30 percent building/structural coverage where 20 percent is the maximum allowed; <br /> -Rear yard setback; <br /> -Front(street)setback; and <br /> -Side yard setback. <br /> An interim use permit for export of approximately 1120 cubic yards of material to be hauled from the <br /> property within 75-foot setback and off site is also being requested. <br /> Page 10 of 24 <br />
