City of Orono <br />Request for Proposal — Professional Legal Services <br />C. Description and overview of Professional Legal Services: <br />Proposal shall include: <br />a. A brief background and history of the Firm. <br />b. The areas of expertise and general services available. <br />c. The general qualifications of the firm as related to municipal law services. <br />d. The proposal should address each of the activities outlined in the scope of <br />work. The proposal should expand upon each item and set forth the firm's <br />approach/ability to carry out each activity. <br />e. Number of attorneys, including number of partners and associates and areas of <br />specialty. <br />f. The name, experience and qualifications of the person or persons who will be <br />responsible for fulfilling the obligations to the City, including a brief resume <br />for each. <br />g. The qualifications and resumes of other professional staff that will be <br />responsible for providing professional legal services for which the City will be <br />charged. <br />h. The availability of the aforementioned staff. <br />i. A description of the proposed allocation of work between the attorney(s) and <br />support personnel identified (i.e., who will be the lead attorney and what work <br />will be handled by junior partners, associates, or paralegals). <br />j. Flowchart of work process for municipal work. <br />k. List and describe any previous or current experience in municipal legal <br />services, specify activities performed, and the name of a person and a <br />telephone number who may be contacted at the municipality. <br />1. Other background or experience which may be helpful in evaluating your <br />proposal. Background or experience in the areas of land use regulation, <br />general and public contracting, eminent domain, real estate, labor relations, <br />public employment, and municipally related litigation will be of special interest <br />2 1 P a g e <br />
