City of Orono <br />Request for Proposal — Professional Legal Services <br />I. INTRODUCTION <br />The City of Orono is requesting proposals for legal services from firms experienced in <br />municipal law. Proposals shall include general municipal representation on civil <br />matters. <br />The City of Orono is a managed growth community of approximately 8,000 people <br />located west of Minneapolis on Lake Minnetonka. Orono encompasses an area of 24 <br />miles, 30% of which is Lake Minnetonka. Orono operates as a Statutory Plan A City <br />with a City Administrator. The City is governed by a five member City Council which <br />includes four members elected at large, and a Mayor elected at large. The City has a <br />strong tax base, driven by high valued lakeshore homes and large lot residential <br />development. The City is about 90% developed, and projects an ultimate population <br />of about 9,500. The City has one small commercial district (Navarre) and shares a <br />"downtown" commercial district with the City of Long Lake. The City has begun <br />dealing with the redevelopment of existing commercial properties. <br />II. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPOSERS <br />A. All proposals, and completion of Exhibit A, must be sent as a PDF document via <br />email to Dustin Rief, City Administrator drief(c�ci.orono.mn.us. Questions about <br />the proposal and RFP process may also be directed to Mr. Rief. <br />B. The City is requesting all proposals be submitted via email; thus, no paper copies <br />of the proposal(s) need to be printed or mailed to the City. <br />C. To ensure fairness and uniformity, firms submitting responses should contact only <br />Mr. Rief with questions, concerns, or comments. <br />D. All proposals must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 16, <br />2019. <br />III. PROPOSAL CONTENT <br />A. Title Page <br />Show the RFP subject, the name of the firm, local address, telephone number, <br />email, name of contact person and the date. <br />B. Table of Contents <br />Include a clear identification of the material by section and page number. <br />11Page <br />
