HENDERSON RESIDENCE PAGE 2 OF 2 30 AUGUST 93 <br /> DIVISION 2: SWIMMING POOL CONSTRUCTION <br /> A. General <br /> 1. No heavy traffic will be allowed on the paver driveway. All trucks and equipment will <br /> access the site on the construction road through the woods.or will remain on the street. <br /> 2. Domestic water and electricity are available at the site <br /> B. Excavation: <br /> 1 . The existing walls, vegetation and paving will be removed by others. <br /> 2. Soils are assumed to be upland soils of load bearing quality. <br /> 3. The pool area will be brought to 8" below finish deck elevation by others. <br /> 4. The pool contractor shall excavate the hole for the pool. Excavated soils from the <br /> pool shall be disposed on-site to the area immediately east at the direction of the <br /> Landscape Architect..Pool excavation shall be performed by thoroughly trained and <br /> experienced personnel. <br /> 6. Compact all fill. <br /> C. Concrete Pool Shell <br /> 1. General: Provide a monolithic, formed, reinforced concrete swimming pool shell <br /> conforming to the shape shown on the site plan, 31,000 gallon capacity, which includes <br /> recesses for fittings and light and stairs and bench. The top of the shell shall be <br /> absolutely level. <br /> 2. Depth: Depth shall be 9'-0" at the deep end and 3'-3" at the shallow end <br /> 3. Thickness: The minimum wall thickness shall be 8"; the floor shall be 6". <br /> 4. Concrete: Concrete materials shall be made with Portland cement, sand, aggregate <br /> and required water, shall meet 4,000 psi 28 day required strength and shall <br /> contain 5% -7% air entrainment. <br /> 5. Reinforcing steel: All reinforcing steel shall be new, clean reinforcing bars as shown <br /> on the shop drawing, minimum #4 bars, spaced 12" o.c. both ways except 6" o.c. <br /> where the wall meets the floor, all steel tied properly and extended for electrical <br /> bonding. <br /> 6. Plumbing: Prior to concrete installation all embedded plumbing and appurtenances <br /> shall be in place. <br /> 7. Observation by Landscape Architect: A minimum of 12 hours prior to concrete <br /> installation, the prepared pool area shall be observed by the Landscape Architect. <br /> B. Pool Finishes <br /> 1. Water line tile: 6" high, frost proof, selected by owner, allow $7.00 per square foot, <br /> retail for materials; installation of tile included in pool bid. <br /> 2. Accent the at edge of steps and seat, 1-1/2" to 2" high, frost proof, selected by <br /> owner, allow $7.00 per square foot, retail for materials; installation of tile repaired in <br /> pool bid. <br /> 3. Interior of Pool below tile: Marbleized, white plaster1/4" to 1/2" thick. <br /> C. Pool Equipment and Appurtenances: submit list and cut sheets for approval. <br /> 1. Pump: weatherproof, single phase, electric, 200 gpm at optimum performance on <br /> pump curve based on 31,000 G / 2.5 hr <br /> 2. Filter: High rate sand filter with manually operated, one piece backwash valve <br /> 3. Heater: 250,000 BTU gas fired with low profile stacktop <br /> 4. Light: one, fiber-optic cord for mounting below coping with remote light source. <br /> 5. Backwash hose: 50 If of 3" fire hose with connections. <br /> 6. Main Drain: 6" repaired repaired relief valve <br /> 7. Skimmer: floating weir type. <br /> 8. Piping: All enclosed piping to be solvent welded Schedule 40 PVC pressure rated <br /> pipe. <br /> 9. Pool vacuum: automatic, continuous motion, crawler type with separate port. <br /> 10. Miscellaneous: 1 life line, 2 life line hooks, 3 floats, 2-16' handles, leaf rake, wall <br /> and floor brush, vacuum hose and handle, 1-8' diving board, 1-3 tread ladder. <br />
