•Y- PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES AUGUST 26, 1974 Page 2
Steve Shank, of Tonka Toys, commented that
changing any zoning to residential along
.railroad tracks would render property worth-
less as the two are not compatible. Searles
stated that the railroads in Orono are very
limited in use and some of our most beautiful
residences lie along these tracks.
Mr. Ewald, of Northwestern Bell Telephone
Company, expressed some concern for any
rezoning:
After the reading, Guthrie stated there
were limited copies that could be had for
anybody genuinely interested in studying
the Plan further.
Since nobody else wished to be heard,
Elliott moved, Pesek seconded, that the
Comprehensive Guide Plan, as written,
should be recommended for approval.
Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0).
Hake left early.
The hearing was adjourned at 8:45 P.M. ADJOURNMENT
_r` } Respectfully submitted, ~
Michael Scheller
Secretary pro tern
