MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 12, 1974 Page 2 <br />Commissioner Gasch expressed concern that Orono North Star Marina <br />should not agree to allow a new structure for the Storage Building <br />storage of boats before we know that the LMCD dock & Seawall <br />ordinance will be upheld in court. <br />Guthrie moved, KulJberg seconded that conceptual <br />approval be granted for the variance and condit <br />ional use, contingent on: (1) A landscaping <br />plan, (2) An architecual plan, (3) A storm - <br />water runoff plan, and (4) The assumption that <br />the L14CD dock ordinance regulating the lengths <br />of docks will be upheld in the courts. The <br />motion was withdrawn. <br />The Planning Commission directed commissioners <br />Gasch and Kullberg to work with the staff in form- <br />ulating conditions that should be part of a con- <br />ceptual approval for the North Star request. This <br />matter will be placed on the March 18, 1974, Plan- <br />ing Commission meeting at which time a recommend- <br />ation will be made. <br />Mr. Terry Schnieder, the architect for I.D.S., I.D.S. <br />presented plans for a 101,000 sq. ft. shopping Cty. Rd. 19 & 15 <br />center and a 30,000 sq. ft. office building. The <br />application involves the following: <br />I. Shopping Center <br />a) Rezoning from R -IC (I acre) to B -3 <br />(shopping center) <br />b) Rezoning from B -I (commercial) to <br />B -3 <br />c) Rezoning from B -I to R -IC <br />d) Variance from existing setback re- <br />quirements for the building <br />e) Vacation and relocation of Kelly Avenue <br />2. Office Building <br />a) A variance to allow a commercial <br />parking lot in a residential zone <br />b) A variance to allow a 30 ft. struct- <br />ure with 3 floors exposed on some <br />sides rather than the maximum al- <br />lowed in the ordinance of 2 1/2 <br />stories <br />A public hearing on the request was scheduled for <br />March 5, 1974, at 7:30 P.M. at the Church of the <br />Good Shepherd. <br />Mr. Hays application regarding a conditional use Charles Hays <br />permit for a livestock farm was tabled until the livestock Farm <br />petitioner presented more information. <br />
