The plan depicts 2 ea 8 ft tall retaining walls extending toward the lake from the terrace foundation. Walls greater than 4' in height must be designed by a licensed professional,and plans must be submitted to the City for review prior to the approval of the permit. Tiered walls are considered one wall unless they are separated by at least twice the height of the lower wall. Knowing that the addition of a pool in this area is still pending approval we could approve the grading plan but not the retaining walls. The walls would then require a separate permit. 2. The plan depicts several walls that are exactly 4 feet tall. Walls greater than 4' in height must be designed by a licensed professional, and plans must be submitted to the City for review prior to the approval of the permit. If during construction it is determined that wall will exceed 4 ft as permit must be pulled.
