The purpose of this action item is to recognize Ron Steffanhagen for his dedicated <br />service to the city of Orono on the occasion of his retirement. <br />2. Background. As of December 31St, 2017 Ron Steffanhagen will retire from City service <br />after 43 years at the Orono Golf course. Ron started work at the Golf course in 1974 and since <br />then has been responsible for all aspects of the golf course including maintaining the grounds, <br />landscaping, and open spaces. For the last 20 years Ron has served as the Golf Course <br />Superintendent displaying outstanding leadership skills in the direction and management of all <br />seasonal maintenance, seasonal service employees and volunteers creating a safe, productive and <br />customer focused environment. Ron intends to remain in the area and now intends to take time to <br />actually use and enjoy the course he spent so many years taking care of. <br />3. Staff Recommendation. Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to adopt the attached resolution recognizing Ron Steffanhagen's 43 years of service to he <br />Golf Course and granting him a lifetime membership to the same. <br />Exhibits <br />Exhibit A.
