MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, October 23, 2017 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />8. GILLESPIE CENTER ANNUAL UPDATE AND CONSIDERATION OF SUPPORT — <br />Continued <br />Printup thanked Ms. Brustad for coming before the Council. <br />Walsh stated the Gillespie Center provides great services to the seniors. <br />Crosby thanked her for all the work she and the Gillespie Center does. <br />Printup moved, Crosby seconded, to approve the annual funding request in the amount of $9,500 <br />for the Gillespie Center in support of their services and programming provided to Orono residents. <br />Vote: Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />9. CERTIFICATION OF DELINQUENT UTILITIES — RESOLUTION NO. 6800 <br />Mayor Walsh noted the purpose of this agenda item is to hold a public hearing and adopt a resolution <br />certifying delinquent utility charges to Hennepin County for collection as a special assessment. <br />Mayor Walsh opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. <br />There were no public comments. <br />Mayor Walsh closed the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. <br />Printup moved, Crosby seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6800, a Resolution Certifying <br />Delinquent Utility Charges and Providing for the Collection of Delinquent 2017 Water and Sewer <br />Utility Service Charges, Recycling Program Fees, On -Site Sewage Treatment Program, and Storm <br />Water Charges. VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />10. #17-3982 CITY OF ORONO — ORONO WOODS PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT <br />Walsh stated the purpose of this item is to formally approve an action agreed to in September by the City <br />Council to facilitate the sale of Orono Woods land to a private owner. The City Council needs to waive <br />Planning Commission review of the item, which requires a unanimous vote, hold a public hearing, and <br />then consider an amendment to the PUD Agreement to formally facilitate the actions in July and approved <br />by the HRA in September. <br />Mayor Walsh opened the public hearing at 7:22 p.m. <br />Tony Lange, Orono Woods, LLC, stated he is here tonight to answer any questions and that they are <br />looking forward to being a part of the community for a long time. <br />Mayor Walsh closed the public hearing at 7:24 p.m. <br />Crosby moved, Printup seconded, to waive the Planning Commission review and to approve the <br />PUD amendment as drafted. VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
