MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, August 28, 2017 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />16. Closed Session <br />Seals moved, Crosby seconded, to enter into closed session pursuant to Section 13D.05, Subdivision <br />3(a), to evaluate the performance of Public Works employee Ron Rice. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(The City Council went into closed session from 7:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.) <br />Printup moved, Dankey seconded, to terminate Ron Rice's employment with the City of Orono <br />effective immediately. VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 2. Walsh and Crosby Opposed. <br />Seals moved, Dankey seconded, to approve an amendment to the motion to terminate Ron Rice, by <br />allowing Ron Rice an extension to resign from his position with the City of Orono by 3:00 p.m. on <br />Tuesday, August 29, 2017 before termination would take effect. VOTE: Ayes 3, Nays 2.
