Attached (Pg 2) /below are the plat monitoring program guidelines for senior housing <br />and what count's toward a community's net residential density calculations. <br />Thanks! <br />Freya <br />Senior Housing Guidelines <br />It is theCouncil's practice to follow the U.S. Census <br />definition of "housing unit" consistently in theCouncil's <br />research and monitoring programs. The definition hes <br />changed in last decennial Census, so the Council has <br />updated its guidelines accordingly. The I)elow guidelines <br />foliow U.S. CenSUS practices and identify when a senior <br />housing facility qualifies as a housing unit or is classified <br />as group quarters. <br />The following are considered housing units and are <br />within the scope of the Council's PW Monitoring Program <br />and count toward the community's net residential density <br />cailcu lations: <br />Independent senior housing <br />• Assisted Irving units <br />Memory care units. if: <br />Part sof a senior campus that includes <br />Assisted Living units, or <br />The memory care units are apartment -like <br />and have their own kitchen and bathroom. <br />The kitchen needs to have an area for food <br />preparation, oven/stove connection, and <br />a kitchen sink - <br />The following are considered group quarters and do not <br />count toward a community's net residential density_ <br />Memory care units that are not part of a senior <br />campus or are not apartment -like with each unit <br />having its own kitchen and bathroom areas. <br />Skilled nursing facilities <br />
