AGENDAITEM Item No.: Date: May 22, 2017 Item Description: Surface Water Management Plan Proposal Presenter: Adam T. Edwards Agenda Consent Agenda Public Works Director/City Engineer Section: 1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with the Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP). 2. Background. The Surface Water Management Plan is a required part of the City's Community Management Plan (CMP). The last SWMP was prepared in 2011. This Surface Water Management Plan is intended to serve as a comprehensive planning document to guide the City of Orono in conserving, protecting, and managing its surface water resources and comply with the Metropolitan Surface Water Management Act, Minnesota Rules 8410, and the requirements of the local watershed management organizations. This document provides an inventory of water resource related information including the results of assessments conducted by other governmental units, both local and state. From this inventory and assessment, Orono sets forth its goals and policies and implementation program 3. Project Scope. The project scope includes facilitating communication with relevant agencies and the public; Inventory of land and water resources within Orono; Stormwater Modeling, and preparation of the report. 4. Cost. Bolton and Menk has prepared a Proposal to complete the report for a fee NTE $24,808. (Exhibit A.) 5. Funding. This project will be funded through the Storm Water Enterprise Fund. The estimated 2017 year-end balance for the Storm water fund is $1,453,394. 6. Staff Recommendation. I recommend that acceptance of Bolton Menk's Proposal. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED Motion to accept Bolton and Menk's proposal to complete the SWMP for a fee NTE $24,808. Exhibits A. Bolton and Menk Proposal.
