Real Solutions. <br />April 18, 2017 <br />Adam Edwards, P.E. <br />Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />City of Orono Public Works <br />2750 Kelley Parkway <br />Orono, MINI 55356 <br />RE: Letter Proposal for City of Orono Self -Evaluation and ADA Transition Plan <br />Dear Mr. Edwards, <br />7533 Sunwood Drive NW <br />Suite 206 <br />Ramsey, IVIN 55303-5119 <br />Ph: [7631433-2851 <br />Fax: 17631427-0833 <br />Botton-Menk.com <br />This City of Orono wishes to Complete and ADA Self -Evaluation and development an ADA Transition Plan <br />that will provide a framework for accessibility for all users within the public rights of way and parks, and <br />bring the City into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and guidance from the <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation. It is our goal to ensure the City has what it needs to prioritize <br />policies, practices, and pedestrian facilities for the efficient and effective identification and removal of <br />accessibility barriers that may be present. We will incorporate the latest data collection technologies <br />along with input from the public into the development and maintenance a pedestrian network that is <br />safe and accessible to everyone. We believe you will find outstanding value in our approach to your <br />project. <br />Scope of Services <br />Data Collection and Analysis: We will collect and store data related to various features included in <br />your Pedestrian Circulation Routes (PCR) and Pedestrian Access Routes (PAR). Our team will <br />inventory components of the PCR/PAR environment utilizing the latest GPS technology to collect <br />data in the field. This data will be imported into GIS for analysis, reporting, and mapping as part of <br />the Transition Plan. Features to be evaluated for ADA compliance include: <br />• Pedestrian Ramps 0 Flashing Crosswalk Signs <br />• Pedestrian Landings 0 Sidewalk and Bike Path Defects <br />• Curb & Gutter 0 Parks <br />• Crosswalk <br />All locations will be tied to a corresponding photo which city staff will be able to access through the <br />existing web GIS application hosted by Bolton & Menk. We will also develop a prioritization system <br />for the City to have a thoughtful approach to addressing accessibility barriers based on existing <br />conditions, public comment, and city process.
