The purpose of this action item is to gain Council approval for the 2017 and 18 road <br />maintenance plan as well as to gain council acceptance of the Bolton and Menk (BMI) of engineering <br />proposal for the 2017 project. <br />2. Background. At the March 22' Council Work Session the Council provided guidance on a way <br />forward for road maintenance funding and projects for the 2017 and 2018 construction seasons. <br />3. Scope. The scope of work for road maintenance in 2017 and 2018 is depicted in the tables below. <br />Not included are crack sealing, tree trimming and striping which occur annually and will be submitted for <br />approval separately. Fox Street is also not included as it is a separate project. <br />a. Municipal State Aid (MSA) Funded Streets. <br />2018 MSA Street Maintenance <br />Leaf Street Rehabilitation <br />c. Planning. City Staff and BMI will look at options to improve the section of Old Crystal Bay <br />Road between CSAH 112 and CSAH 6. Further City staff will identify and prioritize candidates for <br />preventive maintenance surface treatments for execution in 2019 and beyond. <br />4. Funding. Sufficient funding is available in the Pavement Management Fund (PMF) for the 2017 <br />project and to complete the Engineering work of the 2018 projects. Estimated PMF balance at the end of <br />2017 is $79,000. Sufficient funding for the 2018 projects is based on the assumption that an additional <br />$450,000 of funding is provided ($250K from the PMF Levy and $200K from fund 2017 positive fund <br />balance carry over) and that any preventive maintenance surface treatments are deferred until 2019. As <br />the individual project scopes are refined costs that can be funded from the stormwater and sewer ftind will <br />be identified. <br />
