Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with Insulating the <br />Valleys and Perimeter of the Public Works Building in order to close gaps in the buildings <br />insulated envelope. <br />2. Background. When constructed the building was insulated however the area where the walls <br />meet the roof, the area along the valleys in the roofing systems and the windows were <br />insufficiently insulated. The result has been heat loss through these area, ice buildup on the roof, <br />3. Project Scope. Spray foam insulate the perimeter of the roof and the valleys (contract). Cover <br />Spray foam with ignition barrio (Public Works in house work). <br />4. Cost. The lowest quote from a qualified contractor to provide the spray foam insulation was <br />$7415 from Foam -It, LLC. The estimated cost for the Public works to install the ignition barrier is <br />$1450. Funding for the project Improvement/ Equipment Outlay Fund. The End of Year 2017 <br />Balance is projected to be $345,700. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to accept the quotation in the amount of $7415 from Foam -It, LLC for spray foam insulation <br />of the Public Works building. <br />
