Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain council approval to improve select trails at Lurton <br />Park. <br />2. Background. Since its opening the Lurton Off Leash Park has been very popular. This popularity <br />has resulted in some of the amenities requiring upgrades to accommodate the heavier use. In particular, <br />the trail system through the prairie has turned from a mowed path to a mud path. This has resulted in not <br />only a lower quality experience for patrons but also erosion. A solution to this issue is to gravel the high <br />use paths. The Park Commission endorsed this plan at <br />their March 5t'', 2018 meeting. <br />3. Scope of Work. Installation of approximately 900 ft <br />of aggregate trails <br />4. Cost. Staff solicited quotes for the trail work. Witt's <br />End Landscaping provided a proposal for $18,450. <br />Contractor Cost <br />Witt's End Landscaping $ 18,450 <br />Dundee Landscaping $ 22,820 <br />5. Funding. The project will be funded from the Lurton <br />Park Fund. The fund is now being supported from the <br />revenues for annual dog parks pass fees. <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
