AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 9 Date: February 12, 2018 <br />Item Description: Parks Mowers Replacement and Addition <br />Presenter: Jason Goehring Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Parks and Golf Course Supervisor Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with replacement the <br />golf course fairway mower 601 and the addition of a mower for Big Island. <br />2. Background. The golf course fairway mower has been in service for 19 years and is nearing <br />the end of its useful life. Mower 601 is in poor condition and has enough reel stock for one more <br />sharpening before all new reels would need to be installed. This mower is used to mow the <br />fairways at the golf course 3 days a week. <br />The addition of the Big Island mower will be used to mow bi-weekly within the recreational area <br />and outside of any conservation easements on the island. All mowing will be guided by the Big <br />Island Nature Park Management Plan. <br />3. Project Scope. Replace the golf course fairway mower and purchase a mower for Big Island. <br />4. Cost. The City received three quotes for each mower, listed below. Funding. This project will be funded through the Equipment Fund. The Capital <br />Improvement Plan (CIP) budgeted $30,000 for the fairway mower and $7,000 for the Big Island <br />mower. <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
