AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 6 <br />Item Description: Approval to Dispose of Bicycles <br />Date: February 12, 2018 <br />Presenter: Correy Farniok Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Police Chief Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval for the disposal of bicycles. <br />2. Background. The Orono Police Department has 7 bicycles that have been turned in to the <br />department. The bikes were found or abandoned within the city. The following bicycles have <br />not been claimed. All of the bicycles and have been in the department's possession for more <br />than 60 days. The police department considers the bicycles as abandoned property and would <br />like to dispose of them by donating them to Mound True Value. Mound True Value will repair <br />the bicycles and give them to WeCan (Western Communities Action Network, Inc.). WeCan <br />will give the bicycles to children and young adults in the community that are in need of a <br />bicycle. The bicycles that cannot be fixed/used will be destroyed by Orono Public Works. <br />3. Project Scope. Disposal of a bicycles. <br />4. Staff Recommendation.
