Real Solutions. <br />January 16, 2018 <br />City of Orono <br />Attn: Adam Edwards <br />PO Box 66 <br />Orono, MN 55323 <br />RE: Old Crystal Bay Road — Project Development and Design Services <br />Dear Adam: <br />2638 Shadow Lane <br />Suite 200 <br />Chaska, MN 55318-1172 <br />Ph: (952) 448-8838 <br />Fax: (952) 448-8805 <br />Bolton-Menk.com <br />On November 27, 2017, the City Council authorized a portion of the engineering fees associated with <br />continued project development, surveying, detailed design, and bidding services for the Old Crystal Bay <br />Road Reconstruction Project. <br />It is our understanding, that the project scope will include the complete reconstruction of Old Crystal Bay <br />Road between Wayzata Boulevard and County Road 6. In addition, the following elements will be <br />included in the project scope: <br />• Access closure in various locations <br />• A new south access location for the High School and Middle School <br />• Turn lane construction at various locations <br />• Addition of a dedicated pedestrian crossing between the High School and Middle School with <br />center median construction <br />• Sidewalk extensions <br />• Lighting between the High School and Middle School <br />• Watermain replacement on the south end of the corridor <br />• Curb and gutter construction, where necessary to facilitate drainage <br />At this time, we are not anticipating improvements to the sanitary sewer system as part of this project. <br />Proposed Scope of Endneerin! Services <br />To assist the City with this important project, Bolton & Menk proposes the following scope of services: <br />Topographic Survey (in progress) — Bolton & Menk will document existing conditions within the right of <br />way and will locate existing property corners. Photographs of existing conditions will also be taken. <br />City /School Coordination Cin progressl — Bolton & Menk will facilitate three meetings with the City and <br />School District in December and January to further establish the objectives and parameters for <br />development of the project. Intersection scenarios will be developed and reviewed to determine how they <br />accommodate the school's future plans and how they address current traffic operational issues. <br />Detailed Design and Permitting — Bolton & Menk will prepare detailed plans and specifications for the <br />project.
