Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to hire a part-time police officer. An <br />opening exists for a part-time police officer. <br />2. Background. Aleah Lange is currently working as a police reserve officer with our department. <br />Lange has been a reserve with our department since June 2016. Lange has an Associate's Degree in Law <br />Enforcement from Alexandria Technical College and is currently attending St. Cloud State to complete a <br />Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Lange is excited about the opportunity to work for the Orono <br />Police Department. <br />A conditional job offer has been extended to Lange upon successful completion of a Psychological and <br />Physical (Pre-employment medical) exam. Upon successful completion of these examinations the start <br />date would be September 24, 2018. <br />3. Staff Recommendation.
