Funeral Leave
<br />All full-time regular employees will be granted, if requested, up to three (3) days funeral
<br />leave for a death in the employee's immediate family. "Immediate family" means mother, father,
<br />spouse, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, step -child, brother, sister, brother-in-law,
<br />sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents and grandchild of the employee or the
<br />employee's spouse. The City Administrator may authorize more than three (3) days of paid
<br />funeral leave, in which case the additional days would be deducted from sick leave. An
<br />employee must complete a "Request for Leave" form, copy attached, to take funeral leave under
<br />this section.
<br />For attendance at the funeral of a former employee, current employee, police officer on
<br />another department killed in the line of duty, spouse of an employee, parent of an employee and
<br />Council Member, the employee will receive regular pay for time at the funeral.
<br />Jury Duty
<br />Any employee called upon to serve as a juror in a federal or state court will be granted a
<br />leave of absence by the employer for that purpose and for those days the employee is required to
<br />be in court.
<br />The employee will receive all pay and other benefits that would have accrued had the
<br />employee been performing services for the employer during the period of absence for jury duty,
