Purpose: To change the term of the Mayor's position from two years to 4 years <br />2. Background: The mayor's term has been 2 years since the city was incorporated. For continuity of <br />leadership and staff relations it would be beneficial to the city that the mayor's position be elected to a 4 <br />year term, aligning with other council members. This change would be in effect for the next election <br />beginning January 1, 2021. <br />3. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends adoption of the ordinance to change the mayor's term <br />from 2 years to 4 years. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to adopt the ordinance to change the mayor's term from 2 years to 4 years. <br />Exhibits <br />A.
