Box 66 <br />Orono, MN 55323 <br /> <br />RE: 2019 Bederwood Park Improvements <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Adam: <br /> <br />As requested, we have prepared a fee estimate for engineering services related to the 2019 Bederwood <br />Park Improvements. Based on our understanding, the project will include a grading plan and details <br />associated with the development of a soccer field, paved parking lot, and trail connections. In addition, <br />the existing well will need to be evaluated to determine if it has the capacity to feed an irrigation system <br />in the park. <br /> <br />Proposed Scope of Engineering Services <br />To assist the City with this improvement project, Bolton & Menk proposes the following scope of <br />services: <br /> <br />Staff Design Meetings – Our team will work with City staff to develop the scope of the project and to get <br />input on design details. The goal of these meetings is to ensure that the project is designed consistent <br />with City standards and that the City’s maintenance practices and operations are considered throughout <br />the design process. <br /> <br />Topographic Survey – We will document existing conditions within the project areas as necessary. <br />Survey information to be obtained will include topography, and any other data pertinent to improvements <br />outlined above. <br /> <br />Detailed Design and Bidding – Once the final scope of the project is determined based on review of the <br />preliminary design, Bolton & Menk will prepare detailed plans and specifications for the project. Upon <br />authorization, the project will be advertised for competitive bids. Bolton & Menk will administer the <br />bidding process and will ultimately make recommendations to the City Council about awarding the <br />project. <br /> <br />Fee Estimate <br />Based on the scope of services described above, we propose a not-to-exceed fee of $37,500 to be billed on <br />an hourly basis. Once the Construction Contract is awarded, Bolton & Menk will prepare a separate <br />scope and fee estimate for construction phase services. <br /> <br />
