FACTOR 3: Weekly Pickup Schedule – Currently, the City’s recycling is collected on a bi- <br />weekly schedule. If the City considered a weekly collection schedule, please respond to <br />(Attachment G) of this RFP and state how a weekly collection schedule would impact your <br />pricing proposal. <br /> <br />4. FACTOR 4: Subscription-based Curbside Organics Recycling – The City is considering the <br />option to offer organics collection services to residents. Interested Haulers may submit a <br />subscription-based proposal to offer and promote organics collection services, please respond to <br />(Attachment H) of this RFP and state how offering a subscription-based curbside Organics <br />Recycling would impact your pricing proposal. <br /> <br />VI. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />A. Recycling Service <br />1. Recyclable Materials – At a minimum, recycling service includes the collection and hauling of <br />the following items from all homes: <br /> <br />Newspaper and inserts; <br />Cardboard boxes; <br />Glass food and beverage containers; <br />Metal food and beverage cans; <br />All plastic containers and lids, #1-Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET, PETE), #2-High Density <br />Polyethylene (HDPE), #3-Vinyl Polyvinyl Chloride (PVP), #4-Low Denisty Polythylene <br />(LDPE) and #5-Polypropylene (PP) plastic bottles, except those that previously contained <br />Magazines and catalogs; <br />Cereal, cracker, pasta, cake mix, shoe, gift, and electronics boxes; <br />Boxes from toothpaste, medications and other toiletries; <br />Aseptic and gable-topped containers; <br />Mail, office and school papers; and <br />Phonebooks. <br /> <br />Optional materials can be included as part of proposal. Plastic products coded #6-Polystyrene <br />and #7-All other resins and multi-materials not otherwise defined may be included as part of the <br />Proposer’s proposal. <br /> <br />2. Recycling service also includes the processing and marketing of the recyclable materials by the <br />contractor and/or a subcontractor of the contractor. <br /> <br />3. The contractor will provide recycling collection service at each home on one day throughout the <br />City, every other week; or on an alternate designated collection schedule approved by the City. <br /> <br />B. Additional Recycling Services – The City may establ ish additional recycling collection services, <br />including items designated and agreed upon by the City and/or required by Hennepin County under <br />its Recycling Funding Assistance Policy. Compensation for these additional recycling collection <br />services shall be negotiated between the City and the contractor, and set forth in a written addendum <br />to the original Agreement for Services. <br /> <br /> <br />
