RECREATIONAL USE AND VISITOR SERVICES <br /> <br /> <br />Recreational Use and Visitor Services Goals <br /> <br />Goal: <br />Promote a passive day-use recreation and natural area identity in the Park reinforced by the <br />design of facilities and amenities as well as by the establishment of rules and regulations <br />consistent with that identity. <br /> <br />Objectives: <br />● Encourage and support the use of the Park for recreational activities that require little or <br />no infrastructure <br />● Promote recreation and enjoyment by individuals and small groups as opposed to large <br />group special events; limit and manage special events to minimize impact on the Park <br />and interference with Park users; prohibit all for-profit activity within the park <br />● Establish appropriate permits and policies for non-profit group and individual use of the <br />Park within the guidelines established in the MCWD Conservation Easement <br />● Ensure that the Park and its facilities remain available to all users and are not used <br />exclusively by any single group or entity <br /> <br />Goal: <br />Manage the Park in a manner consistent with its identity as a Natural Passive Recreation Area. <br /> <br />Objectives: <br />● Maintain the Park as a nature and wildlife preserve within the guidelines established in <br />the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Conservation Easement while encouraging <br />and allowing only minimal impact recreational and educational uses <br />● Provide only facilities and amenities that are compatible with the level of recreational <br />and educational activities intended for the Park <br />● Provide an inviting impression of the natural character of the Park by planning and <br />implementing shoreline and point-of-access improvements, regular maintenance and <br />provision of tasteful directional or informational signage at strategic locations <br />● Protect the natural scenic quality of the Park as viewed from internal and external <br />locations <br />● Define and constantly reinforce the unique character of the Park with every decision <br />and communication related to the Park <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
