PART 1 DIVISION 2 - SITE WORK <br /> Nelson Orangery 9415.00 1 <br /> October 3, 1994 <br /> 02010. SOIL TESTS <br /> A. Soil bearing capacity assumed to be 2000 PSF. Architect to br notifiied of probable poor soils with <br /> a bearing capacity of less than 2000 PSF. <br /> B. Soil tests results will be available at the office of the Architect. <br /> 02050. DEMOLITION <br /> A. EXECUTION <br /> 1. The Contractor shall demolish all items indicated on the Drawings. The Contractor shall <br /> remove all debris from the site and leave the area raked clean. <br /> 2. The demolition contractor shall verify locations of all major utilities and ensure that the <br /> lines may be reused if required. <br /> 3. Prior to demolition,the Contractor shall take the necessary steps to provide thorough <br /> protection for the portions of the work to remain, as indicated on the Drawings,from <br /> damage during demolition. <br /> 4. The Contractor shall provide protection of adjacent properties during construction. <br /> 5. The Contractor shall provide weatherproof enclosures for all exterior openings during <br /> demolition. <br /> 6. The Contractor shall verify the locations of all bearing walls and structural members prior to <br /> demolition. The Architect shall be notified immediately if any discrepancies are found to <br /> exist between actual conditions and the Drawings concerning the location of the <br /> aforementioned building components. <br /> 7. Demolish in an orderly and careful manner. Protect the existing foundation, supporting <br /> structural members, and walls scheduled to remain. <br /> 8. Do not bum or bury materials on the site. <br /> 9. Remove demolished materials from the site as work progresses. Upon completion of <br /> daily work, leave area of work in dean condition. <br /> 10. Salvage Value: All items that are indicated to be removed as a part of the demolition <br /> and not to be reused, but determined to be of value(including, but not limited to, doors, <br /> windows,cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and light fixtures) shall be retained by the Owner at <br /> the Owner's option. The Contractor is to verify the disposal of such items with the Owner <br /> prior to demolition. <br /> 11. See Section 00120 - "Special Protection of Existing Structure and Landscaping." <br /> 02100. SITE PREPARATION <br /> A. Remove completely all trees, shrubs, and brush, including roots occurring under buildings, areas <br /> to be paved, and areas required tot excavation only. (Remove no other trees or shrubs without <br /> the Architect's approval.) <br /> 1. All large limbs(3 inches and larger) and trunks of trees shall be cut into ten-foot maximum <br /> lengths, stacked and stored for the Owner's use. <br /> 2. There shall be no stockpiling of earth materials,changing of existing grade,or driving of <br /> vehicles of any kind within the dripline of the trees shown on the site plan and all trees <br /> marked with a surveyor's ribbon. <br /> B. The Contractor shall strip and remove all turf,topsoil,and soil required by the Contract Documents <br /> and store the topsoil separately on the site(location to be approved by the Owner)for <br /> replacement under landcaped areas. (See Section 02300. LANDSCAPING) <br /> 02200. EARTHWORK <br /> A. EXCAVATION <br /> 1. Verify with all detail drawings the required subgrades for excavation. <br /> 2.
