PART 1 DIVISION 1 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> Nelson Orangery 9415.00 <br /> October 3, 1994 1 <br /> 01020. CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE <br /> A. Construction will begin on or about October 3,1994, and the date of substantial completion will be <br /> proposed by the contractor. <br /> B. The Contractor is responsible for the construction schedule as defined in the General Conditions <br /> of the Contract. This responsibility extends to securing all decisions that are required to complete <br /> the project. The Contractor shall notify the Owner and the Architect of the required schedule and <br /> deadline dates for all decisions. <br /> 01030. USE OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br /> A. Field Conditions: The contractors shall take field mea fiUrements and verify field conditions <br /> and shall carefully compare such measurements and conditions with the Contract Documents and <br /> any Shop Drawings before commencing any work. Any error, inconsistency,or omission shall be <br /> reported to the Architect at once. No change in the Contract Sum will be allowed for minor <br /> differences between actual field conditions and the Contract Documents. <br /> B. Discrepancies: Should the Bidder find any discrepancies in and/or omissions from the <br /> Drawings and/or Specifications,or should he be in doubt as to their meaning, he shall at once <br /> notify the Architect. The Contractor shall in no case proceed with construction in the case of <br /> uncertainty. <br /> C. Information Location: Items called for in the Specifications but not shown on the Drawings, or <br /> items shown on the Drawings but not called for in the Specifications,shall be supplied and <br /> installed as 'rf shown in both documents. The Drawings and Specifications are not intended to be <br /> redundant to each other. The better quality or greater quantity of work shall be provided in <br /> accordance with the Architect's interpretation. <br /> D. Substitutions: At no time during the project may products be substituted for those specified <br /> without the written permission of the Architect. <br /> 01210 GOVERNING BUILDING CODES <br /> A. All building,fire, heating, ventilating,plumbing, and electrical codes of the State of Minnesota and <br /> local laws and ordinances of those authorities having jurisdiction over the location of the building <br /> site are hereby incorporated by reference into this Project Manual and shall become a part of the <br /> Contract Documents. The most recently adopted edition of the UBC Uniform Building Code is <br /> hereby declared to be part of these Specifications, and all work must conform to its requirements <br /> unless: <br /> I. Local codes and ordinances are more restrictive, in which rase the local codes or <br /> ordinances shall prevail. <br /> 2. The requirements of these Specifications are more stringent or restrictive, in which case <br /> these Specifications shall prevail. <br /> 01220. STANDARDS <br /> A. It is the intent of these Drawings and Specifications to require work to be of"good"and"custom" <br /> quality and to be in conformance with good trade practice and industry standards. <br /> JL All manufacturer's recommended procedures are hereby ed as re111irements unless <br /> otherwise sl2ecified or desjgnated on the Drawings_ <br /> 01300. SUBMITTALS <br /> A. SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA AND SAMPLES <br /> 1. Submit all shop drawings,product data,and samples only after review by the General <br /> Contractor. <br /> 2. Submit shop drawings in the form of one reproducible set of drawings and one set of <br /> opaque reproductions. After Archilect/Engineer review of the submittal, revise and <br /> resubmit as required, identifying changes made since previous submittal. <br />
