PART 1 DIVISION 0— CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS <br /> Nelson Orangery 9415.00 <br /> October 3, 1994 1 <br /> 00170. ALLOWANCES--MATERIALS <br /> A. The Contractor shall include in the base bid all the allowances stated below and elsewhere in <br /> these Documents. These allowances shall cover the cost to the Contractor of the materials <br /> delivered to the site. The Contractors cost for unloading and handling on the site, labor, <br /> installation,overhead and profit, and all other expenses contemplated for the original allowance <br /> shall be included in the base bid. (See AIA Doc. 201, General Conditions, Section 3.8). See <br /> individual sections for specific allowances.The Contractor shall list total areas, number of items,or <br /> other appropriate quantities along with the total allowance cost for each allowance. <br /> B. Provide allowances for the following materials: <br /> 1. Light fixtures: See Section 16500 for a detailed breakdown. <br /> 00700. REQUIRED CONTRACT <br /> A. The STANDARD FORM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN OWNER AND CONTRACTOR, <br /> AIA Document A111, as published by the American Institute of Architects, will form the basis <br /> of the contract. ' <br /> B. GENERAL CONDITIONS. <br /> 1. The AIA Document A201, 1987 edition, GENERAL CONDITIONS, are hereby made <br /> part of this Specification, except where its provisions are at variance herefrom, in which <br /> case this Specification will take precedence. Copies of A201 are available upon request. <br /> 2. SPECIAL NOTE: The contractor shall take special note of paragraph 5.3.1 of the General <br /> Conditions(A201) in relation to the General Contractor's relationship to all <br /> Subcontractors. <br /> C. SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS: The following modify AIA DOCUMENT A201. <br /> 1. AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 1 -CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br /> (a) Omit the last sentence of Subparagraph 1.1.1 and add the following sentence: <br /> "The Contract Documents shall include the entire Division of the Specifications <br /> entitled DIVISION 0-BIDDING AND CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS." <br /> 2. AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 3-CONTRACTOR <br /> (a) Add the following section: 3.19 LIEN WAIVERS. Immediately upon receipt of a <br /> Progress Payment by the Owner,the Contractor must submit signed lien waivers <br /> from the Contractor(only for that portion of work performed by their forces), all <br /> Subcontractors,and all major material suppliers covered in the Application for <br /> Payment. <br /> 3. AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 4-ADMINISTRATION OF THE CONTRACT <br /> (a) 4.2.7: Change the second to the last sentence to read:The Architect's review <br /> shall not constitute approval of safety precautions or, unless otherwise <br /> specifically stated by the Architect in writing,of any construction means, <br /> methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures. <br /> 4. AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 5-PROGRESS PAYMENTSIRETAINAGE <br /> (a) 5.6.1: Take that portion of the Contract Sum properly allocable to completed <br /> Work as determined by multiplying the percentage completed of each portion of <br /> the Work by the share of the total Contract Sum allocated to that portion of the <br /> Work in the Schedule of Values, less a retainage of five percent (5%). <br /> (b) 5.6.2: Add that portion of the Contract Sum properly allocable to materials and <br /> equipment delivered and suitably stored at the site at for subsequent <br /> incorporation into the completed construction, less a retainage of five percent <br /> (5%)• <br /> 5. AMENDMENT OF ARTICLE 7-CHANGES IN THE WORK <br /> (a) Add the following section to 7.2.3: In order to facilitate checking of quotations for <br /> Change Orders, all proposals,except those so minor that their propriety can be <br /> readily deters fined,shall be accompanied by a complete itemization of costs <br />
