PART 1 DIVISION 15- MECHANICAL <br /> Nelson Orangery 9415.00 <br /> October 3, 1994 1 <br /> 15100. HEATING, VENTILATING & AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM <br /> A. Responsibility: <br /> 1. The Mechanical Contractor is singularly responsible for the Code-compliant design, <br /> installation,and testing of the basic home heating,cooling, and ventilating system, <br /> including, but not limited to: the furnace, air conditioning equipment, all supply and return <br /> ducts,grills, registers,combustion and air make-up ducts,gas piping, kitchen and <br /> bathroom exhaust fans and ducts,thermostats, etc. <br /> 2. The Mechanical Contractor shall pay for all licenses,fees,permits,taxes,etc. required. <br /> 3. The Mechanical Contractor shall guarantee all materials and equipment furnished by him <br /> and his labor and the integrity of all systems for two years from substantial completion of <br /> the project. The Mechanical Contractor will replace or repair any part of the system which <br /> becomes defective within the guarantee period without cost to the Owner. <br /> 4. The Mechanical Contractor shall submit a schematic design of the dud runs, air returns, <br /> grills and registers,with all sizes shown and equipment selected,for the Architect to <br /> review. <br /> 5. The Owner is singularly responsible for all normal and periodic system maintenance <br /> necessary for proper system function. <br /> 6. Shop drawings/product data shop drawings shall be submitted for all major pieces of <br /> equipment, according to Section 01600. <br /> 7. The Mechanical Contractor shall submit room-by-room heat loss calculations to the <br /> Architect for review and approval. <br /> B. System Requirements (Remodeled existing HVAC):The Mechanical Contractor is to design and <br /> provide alterations to the exisiting forced air and air conditioning system to adapt the existing <br /> system to accommodate the relocation of existing construction due to remodeling and to extend it <br /> into the new spaces of additions to the existing stricture. <br /> 1. See the floor plans for preferred locations of additional supply registers and air returns. <br /> 2. Supply ducts shall run under concrete slab. <br /> 3. Extend existing flues as shown on the drawings. <br /> 4. Air Balancing: All ventilating systems in the rooms shall be balanced by the Contractor. <br /> The Contractor shall properly make any adjustments necessary to dampers and other <br /> equipment to meet the required air volume. <br /> C. Hot water radiant floor heating s em: Design and install a hot water radiant floor heating system <br /> for the addition. System shall be by INFLOOR HEATING SYSTEMS,or approved equal. <br /> 1. Heating tubes shall be tied to welded wire mesh and encased in concrete slab. <br /> 2. System zoning and controls locations shall be proposed by contractor and approved by <br /> Architect. <br /> 3. Boiler shall be located in existing mechanical room. Verily venting requirements and <br /> routing with architect. <br /> 15400. PLUMBING SYSTEM <br /> A. Water Supply System: <br /> 1. Wall Hydrants: All exterior hose bibs shall be Woodford Model 25 series non-freeze type <br /> wall hydrants. (Verify wall thickness and order correct lengths in time for installation. See <br /> floor plan for locations.) <br />
