PART 1 DIVISION 3- CONCRETE <br /> Nelson Orangery 9415.00 <br /> October 3, 1994 1 <br /> 03300. CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE <br /> A. STANDARDS <br /> 1. Concrete work shall conform to all requirements of ACI 301-72(Revised 1975), <br /> "Specifications for Structural Concrete for Buildings,"except as modified by the <br /> Supplemental Requirements below. <br /> 2. Place all reinforcing according to"Manual of Standard Practice for Detailing Concrete <br /> Structures." <br /> B. SUPPLEMENTAL REQUIREMENTS TO ACI 301-72. <br /> CHAPTER 3-PROPORTIONING <br /> 3.2 :Unless otherwise indicated on the Drawings,the strength of the concrete shall be 4000 psi air <br /> entrained. <br /> 3.8.2.2 :Method 2 will be allowed. <br /> CHAPTER 4-FORMWORK <br /> 4.4.1 Add the following: Formwork must be used at all footings which receive a mortar cove. <br /> CHAPTERS-REINFORCEMENT <br /> 5.2.2 Add the following: Strength of reinforcing steel, unless otherwise noted on the Drawings or <br /> specified herein, shall be 60,000 psi yield point, intermediate grade ASTM A615 Grade 60. <br /> 5.2.6 :Add the following: Unless otherwise noted on the Drawings, provide 6 x 6-W1.4 x W1.4 welded <br /> wire fabric in all slabs. <br /> CHAPTER 11 -SLABS <br /> 11.2.1 :All slabs on grade shall have a granular fill base of at least 4 inches of compacted depth(unless <br /> otherwise shown). Granular fill shall consist of sand,clean crushed stone,or gravel,ASTM C33-78, <br /> Size 67 compacted by vibrating or rolling. <br /> 11.2.1.1 :Fumish and install a 6 mil polyethylene vapor barrier under all interior slabs. Lap all joints a minimum <br /> of 6 inches and tum the vapor barrier up at all slab edges above the too of the slab 6 inches. <br /> 11.7.3 All interior slabs shall be a Class A Steel Troweled Finish except as noted in 11.7.1. <br /> 11.7.4 Add the following: All exterior slabs shall have an exposed aggregate finish to match existing. <br /> A. MATERIALS <br /> 1. Anchor Bolts: <br /> (a) See Division 4- MASONRY Section 3.2.3 under Section 04210. <br /> 2. Non-Shrink Grout (for steel column bases and underpinning): Premixed compound with <br /> non-metallic aggregate,cement,water reducing and plasticizing agents;capable of a <br /> minimum compressive strength of 11,000 psi in 28 days;manufactured by U.S. Grout <br /> Corporation or Euclid N-S Grout;or 1 part Portland cement and 2 parts sand by volume. <br /> 3. Clear Sealer(interior and exterior concrete slabs): ASTM C309,Type 1,clear;type W.R. <br /> Meadows CS309, Sonnebom Kur-N-Seal,W.R.Grace Horn Clear,Sead, Brock-White <br /> Crete Supply Clear-Cote or Euclid Rez-Seal. <br /> B. EXECUTION <br /> 1. Provide sand cushion, rigid insulation,vapor barrier and in-slab heating tubes as shown <br /> on the drawings. <br /> 2. All reinforcing shall be as shown on the Drawings. <br />
