Box 59159 <br /> Minneapolis, MN 55459-8215 <br /> Re: Sewer Connection Charges, 420 Tonkawa Road (PINS 05-117-23 32 0001) <br /> Dear Ms. Snyder: <br /> City records indicate the above referenced property was not assessed for municipal sewer at the time <br /> sewer was installed in Tonkawa Road in the mid 1970's(please see attached letter from City Planner <br /> Alan Olson dated 8/12/81). This property was at the very end of the sewer line at that time and <br /> apparently was either considered as not abutting it, or was given the choice to 'opt out'. Note that <br /> since that letter,the property has been incorporated into the Urban Service Area;this occurred when <br /> sewer was extended to the West Lake Street neighborhood in 1992. <br /> Properties which are now connecting to sewer but which never were assessed originally for the costs <br /> of the sewer, are required to pay a Sewer Connection Charge at the time of connection. Per the <br /> attached excerpt from the 1999 City Fee Schedule, the amount due for connection to the 1973-1 <br /> sewer lines is $12,590. <br /> Additionally due prior to connection is the Metropolitan Council Wastewater Services$1,050 Sewer <br /> Availability Charge(SAC)which is a pass-through fee(collected by the City and forwarded to Met <br /> Council).
