Orono man jailed five days for junky yard I Full Disclosure I StarTribune.com#commentH... South Saint Paul will throw you in jail for not painting
your stucco house the color they want(never mind that you shouldn't even paint stucco
in most cases). And not just 5 days, either.
I have no problem with city ordinances requiring certain standards of order and
maintenance for yards, homes, buildings, etc. But those are civil ordinances, not
criminal code for crimes with victims. Never should any American be thrown in jail for
such a thing. It's tyranny and IMHO unconstitutional. Fines or fees for cleanup, and
when unpaid, property tax levies, would appear to be the right way to handle such
things.
3 Like Reply
xxxwlllis Jul.22,14
@jeff7181west You guys are the folks wasting taxpayer dollars by stubbornly rAWY
to comply with basic ordinances, common decency, and respect for your neighbors.
Anyone familiar with the property knows it could have been handled quickly and easily
years ago.But you had to try and"make a point"...a battle you were destined to lose
because you were in dear violation.
11 Like Reply
jeff7181west Jul.22,14
7:18 PM
Not in violation if no one can see it,sorry you are still paying Tax's,
Sorry about you losing your job at the city.
Like Reply
cavell Jul.22,14
If u chop u junk into small chunks,u can get rid of almost anything.Garbage hauler will tak'e53 PM
anything within reason.Guy sounds kinda stubborn.
17 • Like Reply
jeff7181west Jul.22,14
2:18 PM
@cavell small chunks gets you only 21/2 days in jail,I guess that would of been fair?
firewood should be banned.
2 Like Reply
Powered by Livefyre
inside the StarTribune
news graphics,. home„ jobs r entertainments entertainment r lifestyle w
Interactive map: Adversaries on what's 2014 Minnesota Top Download our summer Soundcheck: Best of Minnesota
Finding best gas prices killing bees battle for Workplaces a-book thriller,'Savage Minnesota musicians 2014:Food,drink,
in metro our hearts and minds Minnesota'l up close getaways, design and
more
*Raewb" Search the Star Tribe
News Local Sports Business Politics Opinion Lifestyle Entertainment Obituaries Classifieds Autos Housing Jobs
http://www.startribune.com/local/blogs/267982061.html 7/29/2014
