MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD AUGUST 10, 1992 <br />ZONING FILE #1746 — CONT. <br />Callahan clarified that it is the feeling of the Council that it <br />is alright for people to violate the hardcover ordinance, as long <br />as they promise to give it up when they die or sell the property. <br />Jabbour felt they were improving the situation by ensuring that the <br />tennis court would be removed at some point. <br />Callahan felt they were accepting a bad policy. <br />Goetten asked if they were legally setting a precedent. <br />Callahan stated they were setting a bad precedent. <br />Lowe added that he is giving a 1+ acre parcel of.land in exchange <br />for 500 s.f. of additional structural hardcover. <br />( * #4) #1748 BOB HOVLAND, <br />1245 NORTH ARM DRIVE — <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT — <br />REQUEST TO BE REFERRED BACK TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Callahan, to refer Application <br />#1748 for Bob.Hovland, 1245 North Arm Drive, back to the Planning <br />Commission for additional review. LAWRENCE, <br />1550 SIXTH AVENUE-NORTH — <br />PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION — RESOLUTION #3148 <br />Mrs. Lawrence was present. <br />Mabusth explained this is a two lot subdivision, which meets all <br />required standards. She explained the only issue is the guest <br />house, which was never granted a conditional use permit. The owners <br />have agreed to file a conditional use permit application to be <br />reviewed at the next Planning Commission meeting. <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Jabbour, to adopt Resolution <br />#3148 for Application #1749 James F. Lawrence, 1550 Sixth Avenue <br />North, for preliminary subdivision. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />E <br />
