1 'I! ` 1111.
Vtiletland Replacement Plan
Spring Hill Golf Club Improvements
' Orono, Minnesota
' Revised December 5, 2012
' BACKGROUND
Construction of the Spring Hill Golf Club was begun in 1997 and the
' course opened in 1999. For playability and safety reasons, Spring Hill
Golf Club proposes to undertake improvements to the golf course along
the 13th fairway. These improvements would include placing fill into a
jurisdictional wetland at two locations.
PROJECT LOCATION
' The Spring Hill Golf Club is located in the NW IA SE '/4 Section 26, T1 18N.
R23W, City of Orono, Hennein County, Minnesota (Figure 1). The site is
' divided by County Road 6 (6t Avenue North), bordered on the west by
Tamarack Drive, and Spring Hill Road forms the southern boundary. The
specific project location is limited to on or near the 13th hole. The primary
' land uses in the immediate vicinity of the site include commercial and
residential uses.
' SITE DESCRIPTION
As shown on the U.S.G.S. Quadrangle map (Figure 2), the topography on
' the site is rolling. The golf course is characterized by landscaped
fairways, tee boxes, sand traps and greens with wetlands and upland
hardwoods interspersed. The wetlands on the site are typically Type 2
' (inland fresh meadow) and Type 3 (inland shallow fresh marsh)
complexes. Refer to Figure 3 of the Wetland Delineation Report
(Appendix A) for an aerial photograph of the project area.
1
WETLAND DELINEATION
' On October 24, 2011 and March 9, 2012, GES delineated most of the
boundary of the wetland proposed for impact west of the 13"' hole. The
' Minnehaha Creek Watershed District reviewed the wetland delineation
