Reimann and Alice S. Reimann, a married couple <br /> (hereinafter "the Appficants") are the owners of the property located at 440 Big Island within the <br /> City of Orono (hereinafter the "City") and legaliy described as: attached as Exhibit A <br /> (hereinafter the "Property"); and <br /> WH�REAS, the Applicants have made application to the City of Orono for <br /> variances from Orono Municipal Zoning Code Sections 78-565 (2)(b), 78-566(3), and 78-568 to <br /> allow construciion of a new 2;400 square foot seasonal cabin where an existing 700 square foot <br /> seasonal cabin already exists on a Big Isfand Record Lot 1.57 acres in ar�a where 5.0 acres is <br /> required; and <br /> WHER�AS, the Appficants have made application io the City of Orono for a <br /> conditiona! us� psrmit (hereinafter the "CU!'") pursuant to Orono Municipal Zoning Code <br /> Section 78-565(2) to allow an existing 700 square foot guest cabin to remain in use on the <br /> Property folfowing construction of the new 2,400 square foot ssasonal cabin where an <br /> accessory guest cabin not exceeding 600 square fe�t is permitted and a minimum of 5.Q acres <br /> is required; and <br /> WHEREAS, afier due published notice and mailed notice in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes and the Orono, Minnesota. City Code, a public hearing was held by the <br /> Orono P{anning Commission on March i7, 2014 at wnich iimes all persons desiring to be heard <br /> concerning this appiication were given the opportunity to speak thereon. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESO�VED by the City Council of Orono, <br /> Niinnesota: <br /> FINDINGS <br /> 1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File number 14-3658. <br /> 2. The Property is located in the RS-Seasonal Recreation Zoning District which <br /> requires a minimum lot area of 5.0 acres and a minimum lot width of 200'. <br /> Pa�e 1 of 6 <br />
