CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 6 5B t <br />A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT <br />FOR THE <br />DAKOTA RAIL REGIONAL TRAIL <br />HE.NNEPIN COUNTY BIKEWAY GRANT REQUEST <br />Whereas, Three Rivers Park District, Hennepin County and the City of Orono desire to <br />complete a protected bikeway gap from the Dakota Rail Regional Trail to the Navarre <br />Community along the west side of County Road 19 to Livingston Avenue; and <br />Whereas, completion of the gap would provide a protected bikeway for trail users to <br />safely access the city's park and ride facility and commercial retail area; and <br />Whereas, the City of Orono will provide up to 10 dedicated parking stalls for Regional <br />Trail and City park parking in the City park and ride lot; and <br />Whereas, the Park District is requesting grant fiords from the Hennepin County Bikeway <br />Grant Program for the completion of the connection; and <br />Whereas, the City supports the Park District's Hennepin County Bikeway Grant <br />application and agrees to partner with Three Rivers Park District and Hennepin County on the <br />Pro] and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City supports Three Rivers Park <br />District's Hennepin County Grant Application for construction of this protected bikeway along <br />County Road 19 form the Dakota Rail Regional Trail to Livingston Avenue. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held <br />February 22, 2016. <br />ATTEST: <br />r <br />Diane Tiege, City C'lero <br />Lili Tod Mc3, &llan, Mayor <br />111 <br />
