The existing fill soils do not appear suitable to support the ' <br /> foundation loads. The underlying nat�u�ally deposited soils can support light to moderately heavy <br /> structural loads, however, the soil bearing pressure used to design the footings will be li.mited ' <br /> because the soiLs near anticipated footing grades at most of the boring locations are soft or loose <br /> and aze judged to have low to moderately low strength. Higher bearing pressures can be obtai.ned ' <br /> by excavating deeper, into the sriffer and denser naturally deposited till and alluvial soils. <br /> . � <br /> Excavation below design footing grades should be performed to remove soft naturally deposited <br /> soils and allow the placement of sand or silty sand fill which will provide a better bearing surface �. , <br /> and distdbute stresses through the fill and reduce their effect on the softer soils below.
