Those in highlighted in green contact with another local police
department.
At a work session I gave my opinion that the survey did not accurately take into account for
our larger police department and the wages of neighboring police departments. The survey
did not include police officers and Sergeants which may have impacted the results of the
study.
A proposal for a contract change for the Police Chief was presented to the Council in 2016.
The proposal was for the city to provide 100% of family premiums and $5000 paid to an HSA
for the deductible, but this did not receive a majority.
I would like the committee to consider a grade increase for the Chief from grade 17 to grade
18 in the Non -Union Employees Pay Grade phis Full family Coverage (additional $3,024)
with $5,000 going to an HSA (deductible) and the Deputy Chief from Grade 14 to Grade 15.
Total cost for this would be approximately $20,734 for 2017. ($25,000) has been budgeted.
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing back from you.
0 Page 2
