The maximum water volume per flush of a floor-mAunted water closet shall be 1.6 gallons. Water closets <br /> shall comply with American National Standards Institute A112.19.6--1990 (see Minnesota Statutes, <br /> Section 326.37, subpart 2). Water closets in public bathroorrn�st have elongated bowls with open-front <br /> seats. <br /> 6. A full-way valve must be provided on the cold water supply line to the water heater(see Minnesota Rules, <br /> part 4715.1800). Equipment used for heating water or storing hot water shall be protected by approved <br /> safety devices in accordance with Minnesota Rules,part 4715.2210 and part 4715.2230. <br /> 7. All comiriercial kitchen sinks, with the exception of mop sinks and hand sinks, shall be provided with 3/4- <br /> inch hot and cold water supply branch lines as a minirnum(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.1730, subpart 2). <br /> 8. Faucets equipped with threaded hose connections must be provided with approved backflow preventers. <br /> 9. Water supply connections to fixtures or equiprrnent which have submerged inlets, or inlets below the spill <br /> line of the fixture or equipment, must be provided with an air gap arrangement, approved backflow <br /> preventer or backflow preventer assembly as specified in Minnesota Rules,part 4715.2000 and <br /> part 4715.2010. This shall include the ice maker and the coffee makers. <br /> 10. A water distribution branch serving two tank-type water closets rriust be at least 3/4-inch in size(see <br /> Minnesota Rules, part 4715.3800). Verify that the e�sting water service is adequately sized for all fixtures <br /> served(see Minnesota Rules,part 4715.3800). <br /> 11. It is recomrriended that a cleanout be provided where new waste and vent piping connects with e�sting <br /> plumbing to facilitate required testing of the new installation. <br /> 12. The copper water distribution piping rrnist meet ASTM Standard B 88 (see Minnesota Rules, <br /> part 4715.0520). All solder and flux used for the potable water distribution systems shall contain less than <br /> 0.2 percent lead. Use of 50-50 solder or flux containing more than 0.2 percent lead is prohibited in potable <br /> water distribution systems. Any solder other than 95-5 tin-antirr�ny or 96-4 tin-silver maist be specifically <br /> approved by the adrrunistrative authority prior to use(see Minnesota Statutes, Section 326.371). Joints to be <br /> soldered must be properly fluxed with noncorrosive paste-type flux complying with ASTM <br /> Standard B813-00. <br /> 13. If plastic pipe is used for the drain, waste and vent system: <br /> a. ABS plastic pipe shall comply with ASTM Standard D 2661 or F 628. <br /> b. PVC plastic pipe shall comply with ASTM Standard D 2665, D 2949, F 891. <br /> c. It must be installed in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0580(� and part 4715.0600. <br /> Above-grade horizontal runs of plastic waste and vent pipe cannot exceed 35 feet in total length. <br /> Above-grade vertical stacks constructed of plastic pipe may exceed 35 feet in total height only if an <br /> approved expansion joint is used. <br /> d. Solvent weld joints in PVC and CPVC pipe must include use of a prin�r which is of contrasting color to <br /> the pipe and cement(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0810, subpart 2). <br /> 14. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules,part 4715.2820. <br />
