T'his Section includes the following vinyl-clad wood window types including glazing: <br /> 1. Operating windows <br /> 2. Non-operative(Fixed)Window Units. <br /> B. Related Sections: T'he following sections contain requirements that relate to this section: <br /> 1. Joint sealing between wood windows and adjacent materials is specified in Division 7 <br /> • Section"Joint Sealers." <br /> 2. Trim for exterior wood windows,are specified in Division 6"Finish Carpentry" <br /> 3 Owner shall furnish windows and General Contractor will install. <br /> 1.3 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Standards: Performance requirements for structural performance,air infiltration,and water <br /> penetration for wood windows are those specified in NW WDAaI.S.a2°Industry Standard for Wood Window <br /> Units." <br /> B. Performance Requirements(Grade 40 Windows): Each required window unit shall comply with the <br /> following performance requirements: <br /> 1. Air Infiltra.tion: Not more than 0.25 cfin per sq.ft.of overall frame area at an inward test <br /> pressure of 1.571bf per sq.ft. <br /> 2. Water Penetration: No water penetration as defined in the test method at an inward test <br /> pressure of 4.43 lbf per sq.ft. <br /> 3. Structural Performance: No glass breakage,da.mage to hardwaze,permanent deformation <br /> that would impair operation of the unit,or residual deflection greater than 0.4 percent of the <br /> span at a positive(inward)and negative(outward)test pressure of 40albf per sq.ft. <br /> 4. Forced Entry Resistance: Provide window units that comply with rec�uirements for <br /> Performance Level 10 when tested in accordance with ASTMaFa588. <br /> 1.4 SUBMI'T'TALS <br /> A. General: Submit the following in accordance with Conditions of the Contract and Divisional <br /> Specification Sections: <br /> 1. Product data for each type of wood window required,including: <br /> a. Standard construction details and fabrication methods. <br /> b. Pmfiles and dimensions of individual components. <br /> c. Data on finishes. <br /> d. Recommendations for maintenance and cleaning exterior surfaces. <br /> e. Layout and installation details, including anchors. <br /> f.
