C. Exterior poors: Treat exterior doors at factory with water repellent after manufachuing has <br /> been completed. <br /> 1. Provide metal flashing at top of out swinging units. <br /> 2.5 SHOP PRIlVIING <br /> A. Doors for Opaque Finish: Shop prime exposed portions of doors for paint finish with one <br /> coat of wood primer specified in Divisiona9 Section"Painting." <br /> B. Transparent Finish: Shop-seal faces and edges of doors for transparent finish with stain(if <br /> required),other required pre-treatments,and first coat of finish as specified in the following: <br /> 1. Division 9 Section"Painting." <br /> 2. Color: Match Architect's sample. <br /> PART 3-EXECUTION <br /> 31 EXANIINATION <br /> A. Examine installed door frames prior to hanging door: <br /> l. Verify that frames comply with indicated requirements for type,size, location,and swing <br /> characteristics and have been installed with plumb jambs and level heads. <br /> 2. Reject doors with defects. <br /> B. Do not proceed vrith installation until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br /> 3.2 INSTALLATION <br /> A. Hardware: For installation see Division 8 Section"Door Hardware." <br /> B. Manufactwer's Instructions: Install wood doors to comply with manufacture�'s instructions <br /> and referenced quality standard and as indicated. <br /> C. Job-Fit Doors: Align and fit doors in frames with uniform clearances and bevels as indicated <br /> below;do not trim stiles and rails in excess of limits set by manufacturer or permitted with fire-rated doors. <br /> Machine doors for hardware. Sea.l cut surfaces after fitting and machining. <br /> 1. Fitting Clearances for Non-Fire-Rated Doors: Provide 1/8 inch(3.2 mm) at jambs and <br /> heads, l/16 inch(1.6 mm)per leaf at meeting stiles for pairs of doors,and 1/8 inch(3.2 mm) <br /> from bottom of door to top of decorative floor fmish or covering. Where threshold is shown <br /> or scheduled,provide 1/4inch(6.4mm)clearance from bottom of door to top of threshold. <br /> D. Field-Finished Doors: Refer to the following for finishing requirements: <br /> 1. Division 9 Section"Painting." <br /> 3.3 ADJUSTING AND PROTECTION <br /> A. Operation: Rehang or replace doors that do not operate freely when swinging or sliding. <br /> B. Finished Doors: Refmish or replace doors damaged during installation. <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
