CITY OF ORONO Regular Meeting of the Orono Council, 7 : 00 P.M. May 12 , 1980 The Orono Council met on the above date with the following members present: Mayor Van Nest, Council- members Butler, Hurr, and Paurus. Also present: City Administrator �enson, Zoning Administrator Mabusth, City Attorney Malkerson, City Engineer Quincey, and Planning Commission member Wilson. Absent: City Planner Olson. Hurr moved, Butler seconded, to approve the Consent CONSENT AGENDA* Agenda* , subject to removing items 4 , 7 , & 10 , with all staff data and supportive information to be included in the Minutes in the sequence they occur. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0 ) . Mayor Van Nest opened the public information meeting PUBLIC INFORMATION concerning the Minnetonka Bluffs, Orono Lane , West MEETING Ferndale Road, and County Road 15 sewer project at Minnetonka Bluffs, et 7 : 05 P.M. Sewer Mayor Van Nest reviewed the past history of the proposed sewer project outlining comments and factual data discussed and presented at the March 20 , 1980 public hearing. Mr . Edward Cashin, 1305 Shoreline Drive , reviewed his letter dated May 8 , 1980 and commente� that the present restoration relative to th� inter�eptor con- struction was not progressing satisfactori��. Edward Cashin Letter - Page 2 Mayor Van Nest: Exempting a parcel of land in the center of a project is not possible . Once a sewer line is installed, you have sixteen months to connect to the City sewers. Mrs. Rodney Kelley, 1399 Orono Lane: What formula will be used to determine the assessment? Mayor Van Nest: This has not been decided but will be determined at a later hearing. I want to repeat what has been stated at other meetings. The City will review with you the plans and specifications for this project, when they are ordered and received. � If a contract is awarded after goin� through the b�ddinq proeess, an assessment hearing will be held. � (Continued)
