MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 9, 2015 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 26 <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Jim Cornick, Jr., Lizz Levang, Aaron Printup, and Dennis Walsh. <br />Representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron Olson, Senior Planner <br />Michael Gaffron, City Planner Melanie Curtis, Public Works Director/City Engineer Adam Edwards, City <br />Attorney Soren Mattick, Consulting City Engineer David Martini, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Item Nos. 5, 8, and 13 were added to the Consent Agenda. Item No. 2 was removed from the Consent <br />Agenda. <br /> <br />Levang moved, Cornick seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />2. CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION OF JANUARY 26, 2015 <br /> <br />Council Member Printup stated he would like to discuss the wood build-out with logo for the Council <br />chambers as well as the building official position. <br /> <br />Printup stated to his recollection the City has done analyses in the past with respect to keeping the <br />position in-house versus outsourcing it and he would like to see a similar analysis done for the building <br />official position. <br /> <br />Council Member Levang noted the Council did discuss that at the work session. <br /> <br />City Administrator Loftus stated based on the direction at the last Council meeting, the contractor was <br />told to move forward on the project for the build-out. <br /> <br />Printup indicated he would rather see some other things done before that. <br /> <br />Loftus asked if she should attempt to cancel the work. <br /> <br />Printup stated he would not be opposed to that. <br /> <br />Council Member Walsh asked where in the process the work is. <br /> <br />Loftus stated the wood piece is being produced and the logo for the front lobby and the build-out are also <br />in the process of being completed. <br />
