10 <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR JULY 13,1998 <br />ROLL <br />The Council met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor Gabriel <br />Jabbour, Council Members J. Diann Goetten, Charles Kelley, Barbara Peterson and Richard Flint. <br />Representing Staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, City Attorney Tom Barrett, Senior <br />Planning Coordinator Michael Gaf&on, Planner /Zoning Administrator Elizabeth Van Zomeren, <br />Public Services Director Greg Gappa, City Engineer Tom Kellogg and Recorder Jamie Gemar. <br />Mayor Jabbour called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />( #1) APPROVE /AMEND <br />Items 4, 11, 12, and 14 were added to the Consent Agenda. Item 17 was removed from the consent <br />agenda. <br />Peterson moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. Vote: Ayes <br />5, Nays 0. <br />• APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />( * #2) REGULAR MEETING OF JUNE 22,1998 <br />Peterson moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Regular City Council <br />Meeting of June 22, 1998. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />( * #3) SPECIAL MEETING OF JUNE 29,1998 <br />Peterson moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Special City Council <br />Meeting of June 29, 1998. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Park Commissioner Susan Wilson was present. Wilson stated that during a meeting with a <br />neighborhood group for Dickey Park, they came up with some informal ideas. The Park <br />Commission would now like to request that Dahlgren Shardlow Uban provide a couple of designs <br />for Dickey Park to the City. Shardlow designed French Creek Preserve which was successful. <br />Mayor Jabbour questioned if the American Indians had been consulted. Wilson stated that Sherokee <br />Isle had met with them, and basically discussed names. Mayor Jabbour asked if there was any part <br />of the park that is of significant importance to the American Indians which they wish not to be <br />• disturbed. Wilson stated this was not proposed as an active park, but mostly for landscaping. <br />Kelley moved, Flint seconded, to authorize the Park Board to spend up to $1,000.00 for plans. <br />Vote: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays. <br />1 <br />
