• <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR JANUARY 24, 2000 <br />ROLL <br />The Council met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor Gabriel <br />Jabbour, Council Members Charles Kelley, Richard Flint, Bob Sansevere, and Barbara Peterson. <br />Representing staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, City Attorney Tom Barrett, Senior Planning <br />Coordinator Michael Gaffron, Assistant Zoning Administrator Paul Weinberger, City Engineer Tom <br />Kellogg, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br />Mayor Jabbour called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />1. Approve/Amend <br />Items 3, 5, 8, and 9 were added to the Consent Agenda. <br />Kelley moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve the consent agenda as amended. <br />• VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />*(2) Regular Council Meeting of January 10, 2000 <br />Kelley moved, Sansevere seconded, to approve the minutes of the Regular City <br />Council meeting of January 10, 2000, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />None <br />LAKE MINNETONKA CONSERVATION DISTRICT - LILI MCMILLAN, <br />REPRESENTATIVE <br />McMillan addressed the City Council regarding the LMCD's plans regarding boat <br />traffic through the channel near Big Island. McMillan stated the LMCD will be placing <br />38 moderate -sized buoys containing no parking signs 50 feet apart outlining the channel. <br />The LMCD will possibly be receiving some funding from the DNR to purchase the buoys. <br />• Kelley expressed some concern that the local residents may utilize the buoys for <br />Page 1 <br />
