Bernhardson, City Administrato^||J(/^ ^ <br />4589.4HD <br />-'I, <br />April 5, 1989 <br />Administrator's Information <br />/ (} <br />r* <br />HIGHWAY 12 TASK FORCE - <br />vri/ <br />Commissioner Levine's office has finally been back in contact and a <br />meeting with Commission Levine and members of the Task Force is tentatively <br />Set for Thursday# April 27, 1989 at the Orono C'Chools at 12:30 p.m. <br />Further information will be available prior to your April 24th meeting. <br />PROJECT DARE/OFFICER FRIENDLY - <br />The City has been working over the last several months to initiate the <br />DARE program in the Orono schools. At this time, because of teachers <br />workload and scheduling conflicts, it may be difficult to initiate this <br />program yet this spring, although the Police Department is continuing to <br />work with the Principal on the: matter. The Chief of Police may be <br />discussing the matter with the Superintendent. The City will continue its <br />Officer Friendly program as noted in the request above. <br />FACILITY SITE ANALYSIS/SOIL BORINGS > <br />The soil borings done on the site at Highway 12 and Old Crystal Bay <br />Road have indicated that the soils of concern on the whole site vary from <br />up to 6" to 3' and as a result of that, it is not anticipated that soils <br />will constitute a building problem on that site. As for the sewer plant <br />site* test results arc not available as of this date. <br />COUNTY ROAD 15 RIBBON CUTTING - <br />The official opening of tl“ revised County Road 15 is anticipated for <br />Saturday* May 6, 1989. Additional information will be provi'^ed regarding <br />this at your April 24th meeting. <br />BOARD OF REVIEW - <br />Just a reminder that the Board of Review will be held on Thursday, May <br />11* 1989. <br />SPRING MANAGERS' CONFERENCE - <br />I am anticipating attending the Managers' conference from May 10th <br />through the 12th. I will be absent from the Board of Review unless the <br />Council would desire me to stay. The topic of the conference this year <br />will be given by a group of individuals that have been associated with the <br />Menninger foundation and w'i 11 be discussing issues regarding personal and <br />professional change challenge for the 1990s.
