W <br /> Minutes <br /> City Council Work Session <br /> Monday, February 26, 2024, 5:00 PM <br /> , City Council Chambers 12780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Council members present: Mayor Dennis Walsh, City Council Members Alisa Benson, Richard <br /> Crosby, Matt Johnson, and Maria Veach. <br /> Staff present: City Administrator/Engineer Adam Edwards, Police Chief Correy Farniok, Officer <br /> Brayden Sherman, Fire Chief James VanEyll, and City Clerk Christine Lusian. <br /> POLICE CANINE <br /> Chief Farnoik and Officer Sherman presented a proposal for a dual-purpose police dog and <br /> handler team that would provide service in search and(rescue and drugs, with assistance in <br /> tracking, burglaries, lost children, vulnerable adults, non-cannabis drugs, and mutual aid calls. <br /> The group was supportive of Officer Sherman proceeding with the preparation of a draft policy, <br /> shift schedules, and related work. <br /> FACILITY ACCESS <br /> Council discussed reaching out to the city of Long Lake to negotiate co-use of the Navarre Fire <br /> Station.
