7 1
MINUTES OP A PUBLIC HEARING» 7URCH 10, 1971
Menber Oonfoske then asked if there was any
certainty that the cawp would be opened if
allowed, and Mr, horn stated that unless he
got the necessary number of children, which
he did not now have, he could not finance
the camp at a loss.
Page S
Robert Dongoske
Mr. Butterfield summarized an opinion that
the area was agricultural-residential and
while there were a few long-lived non-
conforming uses in the area, a conditional
use permit was alien to the area and that
due to the shortness of the summer, 6 to 9
weeks of this t^e of usage would change the
life style of the area.
Lover* Butterfield
Kuiilemeier moved, Southwortn seconded, that
since the scope of the operation perhaps was
not clear when the petition as presented was
passed around, the scope of the operation
should be mailed to property owners and
another hearing be held. At this time it
was brought out that neither the mailing
nor the hearing was legally necessary for
a conditional use permit and that this
hearing was merely a courtesy. Tiic motion
was then dropped.
Herfurth moved. Parten seconded, that the
permit be allowed on a trial basis for one
year and then be reviewed. Poisson stated
at this time that if the camp became a
nuisance at any time, a petition of 751 of
the property owners within *1,000'. could have
the camp removed. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (T),
Southworth and Dongoske Nay. Gasch abstaining,
Motion
Informal discussion on planned-unit development
was held among members.
Discussion
Mayor Oberhauser then spoke to members on the
aims, scope and the importance of the work being
done by the Planning Commission and discussion
was neld between he and the members on initiating
a master plan as to roads and land use instead
of limiting the work of the commission to reviewing
variances, divisions, and conditional use permits.
?Iayor Oberhauser
Poisson moved, Kuiilemeier seconded, that the
first Monday of each month be spent by members
in such a study. Motion, Ayes (9) - Nays (0).
First Monday Meetings
Meeting adjourned at 10:45 P.M.
Respectfully submitted.
Mike Scheller, Secretary
